Building Permit Fee Schedule Update – Effective April 15, 2026

Lee County Community Development has updated its permit fee schedule to better align the fees with the cost of providing permitting and inspection services. Fees will be assessed using the fee schedule in effect on the date they are added to the permit record.

Fire & EMS ​Impact Fee Amendments
Amendments to the Fire and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) impact fees were adopted on February 3, 2026. 

The first incremental increases will take effect on May 4, 2026 with subsequent incremental increases taking effect annually through May 4, 2029. Click here to view the Agenda Item Report.

Solid Waste Assessment

Before a Certificate of Occupancy on a residential dwelling can be issued, the builder or owner is required to pay the annual Solid Waste Assessment for a residential dwelling (four units or less).  Please visit the Solid Waste Assessment webpage for more information.

Note: In addition to building permit fees, all permits are subject to fees imposed through HB0663, revised by HB 741 effective July 1, 2017.   Each permit is charged a minimum of $2 for administration (or 1.5% of permit fee) and a minimum of $2 for radon (or 1% of the permit fee).
