Lee County Community Development is responsible for overseeing Planning, Zoning, Development Services, Permitting, Plan Review, Inspections, Contractor Licensing, & Code Enforcement for unincorporated areas of Lee County.
A public information meeting will be held on August 25, 2026, regarding Board of County Commissioner-directed Lee Plan and Land Development Code amendments. The amendments will increase efficiency, reduce unnecessary regulations, while maintaining the protection of public health, safety, and welfare and meeting State requirements.

At the meeting, a presentation will be provided. Attendees will be provided the opportunity to submit written questions to be answered at the end of the presentation.
The amendments will be available online by end of day, August 21, 2026. Once posted, use the following links to view the amendments:

Permits are required for renovations, remodels, additions
and any repairs related to storms, floods or any other damaging event.
To remain in compliance with FEMA’s National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP), properties within the flood zone require an additional layer of review and documentation before repairs can proceed.
