The Lee County Department of Transportation works with local, state and federal partners to enhance the roadways throughout the region.  DOT is responsible for providing safe and efficient transportation and stormwater systems for the residents of Lee County.

Lee County is growing quickly, and the population is expected to reach 1 million permanent residents by 2040. The Lee Board of County Commissioners has made transportation a Strategic Goal to address the demands associated with growth. The Board has prioritized accelerating top-tier road projects to alleviate pressure on our roadway network. Lee DOT continues to use technology and best practices to improve and fine-tune traffic signalization.

This site provides real-time traffic information along with traffic mitigation project details that may enhance road conditions in your area.

Live Traffic Cameras

The Matlacha live traffic cameras are a pilot program to evaluate the effectiveness, helpfulness, and usefulness of implementing this type of technology in select areas of the County.  The goal is to provide citizens that plan to travel to and from Pine Island through Matlacha with a real time view of travel conditions on the Pine Island Road corridor. This pilot program will run for a period of time and then be evaluated.
