Lee County Department of Transportation (DOT) is responsible for providing safe and efficient transportation and storm water systems for the residents of Lee County. The staff consists of several divisions working together to achieve this goal.
Provides project management, engineering design, and right of way construction permitting for transportation projects.
Maintains designated roadways, bridges, canals, and storm water drainage systems. Provides for right of way mowing, landscape services, Request for Action (RFA) and the Adopt a Road Program.
Provides cash toll collection for Cape Coral, Midpoint Memorial and Sanibel Causeway bridges, electronic transponder collection, and toll facility operations and maintenance.
Installs and maintains all traffic signs, signals, pavement markings and other traffic control devices on County-maintained roadways. Provides maintenance of traffic in an emergency, traffic count reports, and traffic regulation orders. Monitors and actively manages real-time disruptions at major intersections at the Traffic Operations Center.
