About Pine Island Public Library:
The Pine Island Public Library was incorporated in 1962. Before this date, library service to the islands was by book boat then by volunteers who loaned out books from Pine Island Center. The original library opened in 1966. It is now The Museum of the Islands. Our current building was opened in 1986. It has 5,200 square feet and currently contains over 42,000 items. The Pine Island Public Library serves Pine Island, Matlacha, North Captiva, Useppa, Cabbage Key, Cayo Costa, and parts of Cape Coral.

Friends of the Pine Island Public Library
The Friends of the Pine Island Public Library group is a non-profit, volunteer organization that helps library staff raise awareness of the library’s cultural and educational assets in the community by enhancing programming and services through the development of supplemental financial resources. Resources are made possible through membership fees, donations, fundraising events, book sales and grants from outside organizations.
