Free Book for Children and Teens
Every child and teen can choose a free book at the library during the summertime, while supplies last. Choose from a variety of popular titles. Free books must be claimed in-person by the child or teen at any Lee County Library System branch location.
Special Events
Visit the library’s calendar of events to see featured events and programs for a summer of fun at the library. Special programming for children and teens includes live animal shows, science, magic and more! Adult programs vary by branch. Space is limited so registration might be required at some locations.
Drop-in Activities
Stop by anytime! There is always something happening at our libraries for children and teens.
Reading and Activity Challenges
Choose either virtual or offline program for a summer of reading and adventure. Participants in either format are automatically entered to win book baskets for their age group! One entry, per person, systemwide. Multiple entries may result in disqualification from the prize drawings.

Sign up for a FREE READsquared account at or download the app in the Apple or Google Play Store. Create a family account or individual account or simply log in and add the 2024 Summer Reading Program when it goes live. Earn points by logging daily reading and completing mission activities throughout the summer.

Pick up a Summer Bucket List Bookmark from any Lee County Library System location and check off 15 adventure activities. Return the bookmark to the library to complete the challenge and be entered to win a book basket.
Everyone who participates in the virtual or offline challenge can win a basket filled with books and other prizes Aug. 9, 2024. All summer participants are eligible to win prizes for their age category: pre-K, children, teen and adult.
