Summer Reading Program
Unearth a Story
Coming June 1-August 1, 2026
Step into a world of discovery and imagination with our Summer Reading Program! This free, all-ages program is designed to inspire, nurture, and grow a lifelong love of reading and learning through special events, reading challenges, and engaging activities.
Free Book for Children and Teens
Every child and teen will be able to choose a free book from a variety of popular titles at the library during the program, while supplies last. Free books must be claimed in-person by the child or teen at one of our 13 Lee County Library System branch locations.
Special Events
Check out the library’s calendar of events to start planning your summer of fun! Special programming for children and teens includes discovery programs, art, science, magic and more! Adult programs will vary by branch. Registration may be required at some locations and space is limited. Visit leelibrary.net/events to view the full schedule now.
Reading and Activity Challenges
Both online and print options will be available to challenge you during this summer of reading and adventure. Participants in either format will be entered to win branch prize baskets for their age group!

Bonus: Children and teens (ages 6-18) who complete the online or paper challenge will receive a voucher for two (2) free tickets to a Mighty Mussels Baseball Game, courtesy of Suncoast Credit Union.
