About Reciprocal Borrowing Through the Southwest Florida Library Network's Reciprocal Borrowing program, residents of Charlotte, Collier, DeSoto, Glades, Hendry and Monroe counties may register for a free Lee County Library System (LCLS) card to borrow LCLS materials and to use its computers and Online Library.
To get a Lee County library card, residents of neighboring counties must first
check to see if their own community's library is a participant of SWFLN's Reciprocal Borrowing program. If it is a participant, then they must first visit their community library and ask for a SWFLN Reciprocal Borrowing sticker to be affixed to their community library card. These stickers expire at the end of the year. Next, they should present their community library card with the SWFLN sticker
at any LCLS location to become eligible to apply for a Lee County library card. A photo ID and proof of address are required. Reciprocal borrowers may also check out digital library materials or download items from the Online Library. Printed materials borrowed from LCLS through the Reciprocal Borrowing program may be returned to any LCLS branch.
Please Note: Reciprocal borrowers are not eligible to request Interlibrary Loans, check out items from the Speaking Book and Launchpad collections, or use other LCLS reference e-sources remotely. Lee County residents and Lee County Library System Card holders should follow the same above procedures to become eligible to borrow materials from libraries in neighboring counties. |
