If you are accessing any resource from outside of the library, please be prepared to enter your library barcode number. If you do not have a library card with LCLS, you can get temporary access by filling out this form.

  • BookFlix - A literacy resource for children in grades PreK–3. BookFlix helps to build a love of reading and learning. Early readers will develop and practice essential reading skills, and see a world of knowledge and exploration.

  • Chicago Tribune - The Chicago Tribune is a daily newspaper based in Chicago, Illinois, United States. Founded in 1847, it remains the most-read daily newspaper of the Chicago metropolitan area and the Great Lakes region. This database contains articles from 1985 to the present.

  • Business Insights: Essentials - News, stats and reports provide in-depth coverage of companies and industries.

  • ChiltonLibrary.com - Authoritative automotive repair covers the most popular vehicles of the past 30 years.

  • Civil War, The - Nearly 500 vital documents include narratives, regimental histories and songs.

  • Consumer Reports - Presents articles on health, public safety, marketplace economics and the judicial & regulatory actions that affect consumers.

  • Consumer Reports Buying Guide - The online version of the well-known product-test and consumer advisory publication. Publishes results of tests on products ranging from major purchases to everyday items. Also examines health, money management and more.

  • Consumer Reports on Health - Presents information for consumers on health and health issues aimed at enhancing the quality of life. Not intended as a substitute for professional or medical advice.

  • CultureGrams - World Edition, Kids' Edition, and States Edition and contains cultural and geographical information supplemented with maps, images and recipes.

  • EBSCO Ebooks - The collection is searchable by keyword, author, title and full text and includes more than 48,000 reference and non-fiction titles on a wide range of subjects.

  • EBSCO Masterfile Premier - Contains nearly 1,700 periodicals covering general reference, business, health, education, general science, multicultural issues and much more. Also contains more than 500 reference books, over 107,000 primary source documents, and an Image Collection of over 510,000 photos, maps & flags.

  • Florida Digital Newspaper Library - The Florida Digital Newspaper Library provides access to the news and history of Florida. All of the over 2 million pages of historic through current Florida newspapers in the Florida Digital Newspaper Library are freely available with zoomable page images and full text.

  • Florida Electronic Library - Collection of resources providing articles in a variety of subject areas. Subjects include: business, health, current events, environment, etc. Resources are available for all age groups as well as for Spanish language users.

  • Genealogy Resources--Lee County Library - See all of the genealogical resources the library has to offer. Fort Myers Regional Library offers a dedicated genealogy research room along with other research tools, assistance and expertise.

  • Heritage Quest - A collection of 25,000+ family and local history books that are searchable. Every page of each book can be downloaded or copied. Material is included from all 50 states and Canada. The complete U.S. census from 1790-1940 is also available. It can be searched by name, place of birth, age or ethnicity.

  • Los Angeles Times - The Los Angeles Times is a daily newspaper based in El Segundo, California, which has been published in Los Angeles, California, since 1881. It has the fifth-largest circulation in the U.S. This database contains articles from 1985 to the present.

  • Miss HumbleBee's Academy - An interactive learning program for children ages three to six. Aligned with preschool and elementary standards.

  • Morningstar - Search stocks, bonds, mutual funds and ETFs. Learn about investments, see reports and create portfolios. This resource allows ten concurrent logins from patrons.

  • The New York Times - The New York Times is an American daily newspaper based in New York City with a worldwide readership. Founded in 1851, the Times has since won 132 Pulitzer Prizes, and is ranked 18th in the world by circulation and 3rd in the U.S. This database contains articles from 1851 to the present.

  • The News-Press - The News-Press is a daily broadsheet newspaper located in Fort Myers, Florida, serving primarily Lee County, as well as parts of Hendry, Collier, and Charlotte Counties. Current and back-issues of The News-Press indexed through ProQuest.

  • ScienceFlix - For students in grades 4-9. Students can hone literacy skills while bolstering understanding of crucial subjects relating to science, technology, and engineering. ScienceFlix is filled with interesting videos, images, and more.

  • TumbleBooks - TumbleBooks is a curated database of children's titles for grades K-6. It includes talking picture books, read-along chapter books, National Geographic videos, non-fiction books, playlists, as well as books in Spanish and French. The collection features Graphic Novels – a student favorite! It's a great resource for tech-savvy kids, and teaches them the joy of reading in a format they'll love.

  • US Major Dailies from ProQuest - Includes five major daily newspapers; The New York Times, Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal, Los Angeles Times and the Chicago Tribune. Articles are uploaded by 8 a.m. each morning.

  • World Folklore and Folklife - Folklore is part of the everyday lives of people around the world. This database covers a variety of subjects: food and drink, music and dance, celebrations and rituals, and, religion and beliefs. It also includes thousands of classic folk tales, the complete Hans Christian Andersen stories, Grimm's fairy tales and folktales from around the world.
