Prize Drawings & Giveaways

Starting October 1, Grab and Go Craft Kits are available for pick up at the libraries through curbside and in-branch service. Each kit includes supplies for our weekly craft programs and a FREE comic book! Limited to one kit per person, while supplies last. 

Fandom Fest participants can earn chances to win great prizes by completing reading challenges and fandom-themed activities all month long! Increase your chances of winning by participating in the weekly trivia challenges, online costume contests, and fandom art exhibition, and by logging reading and fandom-themed missions through READsquared at www.leelibrary.readsquared.com.

Cosplay Costume Contest

Contestants of all ages (and pets!) are invited to show off their creativity by entering our online costume contest. This is a free, one-of-a-kind local competition that highlights the creativity and skills of our cosplay community.

Official Rules
  • Participants must sign up for the appropriate category: Pre-K, Kids, Teens, Adults, Pets.
  • One costumed participant per entry. Solo photos only, no group entries allowed. 
  • Costumes can be purchased, handmade, or assembled by participants. 
  • All types of costumes are eligible to compete. 
  • No real or realistic-looking weapons are allowed.
  • No nudity, obscenity, gore, sexuality or cultural insensitivity will be allowed. 
  • Lack of clothing does not = costume; tops and bottoms must be worn in the photos.
  • Attendees who do not comply with the rules will be disqualified from the contest.

The contest is open to residents of Lee, Charlotte, and Collier counties. There are five categories: Pre-K (ages birth to 4), Kids (ages 5 -11), Teens (ages 12-18), Adults (ages 19 and up), Pets. Any contestant who is a minor must have parental/legal guardian consent in order to enter the contest. Participation constitutes entrant’s full and unconditional agreement to these Official Rules and to use the entrant’s submission photo in future publications. Winners or parents/guardians will be contacted by email and/or phone and must be able to collect the prize, in person, at their local library branch and show a photo ID or a Lee County library card when picking up the prize. 

To enter, follow these simple steps.
  1. Take a photo of yourself in costume, holding a sign that says “Fandom Fest 2020.”
  2. Complete an online entry form and upload your entry below between October 1-24.
  3. Make sure to submit your photo in the correct category, or it may not be approved. Any photos entered into the wrong age group will be automatically disqualified.
  4. One costume submission per person. 
  5. Submissions must abide by the official rules. 
  6. Do not delete the original photo after entering the contest.
  7. Don’t forget to come back and vote and encourage others to vote from October 25-31. 
Winner Determination
Contestants are prohibited from obtaining votes by any fraudulent or inappropriate means, including, without limitation, offering prizes or other inducements to prospective voters. Public Online Voting will take place from October 25 – October 31, 2020. Each entry will be scored based on the number of Public Online Votes received. Eligible contestants that receive the highest total scores per category will be the grand prize winners.* Winners will be contacted by email and/or phone and must be able to collect the prize, in person, at their local library branch and show a photo ID or a Lee County library card. All winners will be notified via email. Prizes unclaimed after two weeks will be subject to forfeit and the runner up will be notified via email.

*Lee County Library System reserves the right to refuse any entry.

Fandom Art Gallery

Calling all artists! As part of this year’s Fandom Fest celebration, we are hosting an all-ages virtual art exhibition featuring local talent. Artists working in anime, manga, and comic book styles are welcome. 

Art submissions must be family-friendly, and Lee County Library System reserves the right to remove any inappropriate content. All artists participating in the online exhibition will be automatically entered into a random prize drawing for an All Ages Art Supplies Gift Set. Winner will be notified by email the week of November 2-6 and must be available to pick up the prize at a Lee County Library branch.

The online Fandom Art Gallery link to upload and view artwork will be available here starting October 1.
