Frequently Asked Questions

When will the South County Regional Library reopen?
The library has reopened as of 9 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 18.

What renovations were included?
The renovations included new furniture, flooring and shelving, additional study rooms and a programming room for children and teens. The electrical system, HVAC system and roof were replaced. The building was also repainted, inside and out.

When will the Three Oaks Community Park location close?
The temporary location closed at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 17. Our thanks to the Lee County Parks and Recreation for hosting the Library System while the South County Regional branch was closed. All items held at the Three Oaks Park location have been transferred to South County Regional for pick up. The book drop will stay open at the Three Oaks Park location until Monday, Jan. 5.

Why was the building being renovated?
The South County Regional Library, remodeled from a former bank processing facility, opened in 1996. The mechanical systems needed to be replaced, which provided an opportunity to improve, update and modernize the interior to meet the needs of the fast-growing Village of Estero community.

How were the renovations paid for?
Funding for the renovation came from the library’s Capital Improvement Project (CIP) budget.
