Why did the Lee County Library System get a new online catalog?
- The new catalog, powered by Vega Discover, provides an improved, more convenient and accessible design to help you find what you are looking for, discover new books and materials and even check out with ease!
- Vega is also built with your mobile device in mind. From tablet to phone to laptop, this catalog will adapt to your view.
When will the new catalog be available?
- The new catalog, powered by Vega Discover, will be available at all libraries and online Wednesday, Oct. 8.
How do I get to the new catalog?
- Want a sneek peek? Take a look at the new catalog now. On Oct. 8, we'll update our links so you will get to the new catalog automatically.
Can I still access the original catalog?
- Yes, there is a link above the search bar in Vega Discover that says “Classic Catalog.” Click on this to access our original catalog.
How do I log in to my account in Vega Discover?
- Click "Log in" at the top then enter your library card number and PIN. Visit the library’s “Need Help?” page if you need assistance.
How do I search in Vega Discover?
- Type a title, author or subject into the search box and the “Smart Search” will begin to show you possible matches. Also, scroll down on the home page to discover themed collections to explore.
Can I borrow ebooks and eaudiobooks from Vega Discover?
- Yes! Ebooks, eaudiobooks and other content from Overdrive/Libby and hoopla can be checked out directly through our new catalog. You will need to be logged into the catalog with your library card number and PIN to check out and place holds on ebooks and eaudiobooks this way.
- Note: For hoopla items, you also need to have a hoopla account associated with your library card.
Can I create a reading list?
- You sure can! When searching the catalog, you can bookmark items “For Later.” Click on "My Bookshelf" (located at the bottom of the window) and select the "Bookmarks" tab to view your selections. You also can create categories to group your saved titles.
How do I view my Holds and Checkouts?
- After successfully logging into your account, click on "My Bookshelf" at the bottom of the window. You will see both the physical and electronic items you have checked out or have placed on hold.
How can I get help?
- Contact the library for assistance using the "Need Help?" link at the top or to the right.
