Pet Waste that is left uncollected degrades water quality. With an estimated 134,000 dogs and 154,000 cats in Lee County, this results in a lot of waste that washes into our waterways increasing bacteria and nutrients. Join us in our Do your Duty campaign and pick up the waste! To learn more visit DoYourDuty.org and stop the Slime Monster.
Phase I (from Six Mile Cypress to Daniels Parkway) was completed in November 2005 and included 1 1/4 mile of paved path and sidewalks, two shade shelters with picnic tables. Phase II (from Daniels Parkway to Crystal Drive) opened in October 2006 and includes two shade shelters with picnic tables and 1.5 miles of paved trails. Phase III (from Crystal drive to Colonial Ave) opened late April 2008.
On Sept. 9, 2008 Lee County Commissioners, renamed the park from Ten Mile Linear Park to John Yarbrough Linear Park in honor of longtime retiring Lee County Parks & Recreation Director John Yarbrough.
