The Lehigh Acres Community Pool is a 169,800 gallons, eight lane heated pool that is open year-round. Lap lanes are provided for the lap swimmer and Water Exercise and Arthritis Foundation classes are offered throughout the year on weekdays. Learn to Swim classes are offered throughout the year for all ages and abilities. The learn to Swim Instructor staff are certified through the American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Program. The pool is home to Swim Florida which is a competitive youth swim team. For more information about the Swim Florida program call 239-565-4532 or visit their website at www.lehighswimming.org

This facility is equipped with the WeatherBug Lightning Alert System. When the system detects lightning within 10 miles of the facility, the air horns sound an uninterrupted 15-second blast and the strobe light will activate. Park patrons who hear the horn and/or see the light need to seek shelter immediately. When the system no longer detects a threat, three 5-second blasts from the horn will sound and the strobe light will stop working. This is the signal that it is safe to return outdoors.

No system is fool-proof. Park visitors should always assess weather conditions before going outside and always be prepared to take the appropriate action needed to ensure one's safety.

*If the connection is DOWN, please follow the National Weather Service 30/30 rule until it is restored.*

History

The Lehigh Acres Community Pool was opened in November of 1986 located at the corner of West 5th St. and Williams Ave. Approximately one-year after opening, a heating system was added to keep water temperatures constant. The Lehigh Acres Community Park surrounds the pool. Staff is available year-round to answer any questions. In 2004, a renovation project included resurfacing the interior of the pool with a new aggregate finish. The project also included a new pool deck, facility fencing, and upgrading the old DE filtration system with a new high rate sand filtration system. In late 2007 and early 2008, a capital improvement project included renovation of the restrooms, the addition of indoor showers, and new non-skid flooring. A triple flume water slide was installed in 2010 for added fun. In spring 2012, a cooling system was added and heat pumps were replaced in the fall to keep water temperature constant throughout the year.  In fall of 2016, two new shade structures were added to the facility.
