Scope Of Work: | The Lee County Board of County Commissioners (County) desires to contract a qualified Vendor for contingency disposal services for Class III solid waste. The County owns and operates an approximately 600,000-ton-per-year waste-to-energy facility, as well as three transfer stations located in Lee and Hendry Counties. Additionally, the County owns and operates Class III landfills in Hendry County that may accept materials from the Lee/Hendry County System. The County needs to dispose of Class III solid waste at an alternate disposal facility on a contingency basis. The Vendor shall accept waste from the County which may include residential, commercial, or industrial Class III solid waste on an as-needed basis. Materials will be transported to the Vendor’s disposal facility by the County using the County-owned hauling fleet or contracted waste haulers. The County will continue to use its Waste to Energy Facility in Ft. Myers, Florida, and Lee Hendry Landfill in Felda, Florida as primary disposal sites. This contract is intended to be used on a contingency basis and there will be no guaranteed minimum tonnage. |
