Details: The new LeeTran facility will be constructed and will include an Administrative Office of approximately 12,800 sq. ft., Transportation Operations Offices of approximately 20,000 sq. ft. and a Vehicle Maintenance Building of approximately 44,500 sq.ft.  The Maintenance Building will have 21 bays with lifts for repair of the buses.  The outside parking lot will be able to accommodate over 200 buses.  The facility will also include bus fleet fueling and cleaning stations for fleet operations and maintenance, requiring fuel tanks and chemical storage tanks.

The Federal Transit Administration (FTA) and Lee County Transit (LeeTran), in cooperation with Lee County Public Works, Lee County Lands Department, and the Florida Department of Transportation will continue working together to construct this new facility.  The new facility will serve the expanding needs of LeeTran and will house administrative, service operation, and maintenance functions and facilities.   This facility will also accommodate passenger transfers and provide customer service areas.

When the facility is built-out (anticipated to be in 2024), it will accommodate approximately 500 employees, 124 buses, 90 paratransit vehicles, 47 support staff vehicles, and 300 employee parking spaces.  The Administrative Offices will serve office and clerical staff, customer service, provide public meeting space, IT and training functions.  The Operations Building will house supervisory staff, dispatch, driver check-in and prep area, vehicle inspection and release for both Fixed Route and Paratransit Services.  The Maintenance Building will provide for maintenance staff, warehouse functions, route maintenance, facility maintenance, vehicle maintenance and repair, inspection, wash, interior detailing and fueling.
