General County Surplus Real Property Disposition Information

Before any County real property may be offered for sale, or potentially donated, the Lee County Board of County Commissioners must declare the property as surplus, in accordance with Florida Statutes.

  • Florida Statute 125.35 for sale to private sector (handled through a sealed bid process)
  • Lee County Ordinance No. 02-34 (followed when surplus property comprises very specific and limiting conditions)
  • Florida Statute 125.38 (for disposition to non-profit entities)
