PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, there will be conducted a Special Election at which the voters of Lee County will be asked if they approve or disapprove of the adoption of Amendments to the Lee County Charter to become effective, if approved, on January 1, 2027. This form of the ballot will read substantially as follows:

The election will be conducted between the hours of 7:00a.m. and 7:00 p.m. All duly registered voters of Lee County may participate in the election. A copy of this Notice and a copy of the proposed Amendments are on file in the Office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court of Lee County, Florida, Minutes Office. The public may inspect or copy the proposed amendments during regular business hours at the Clerk of Court. The Minutes Office located in the Courthouse Administration Building, 2115 Second Street, Fort Myers, Florida.

Title: County Charter Revision Relating to Setting the Number of Consecutive Terms of Elected Constitutional Officers
Summary: County Charter Amendment Section 3.1 “Elected County Constitutional Offices”; limiting the number of consecutive terms of the County Constitutional Officers; amendment would limit County Constitutional Officers to serving no more than three (3) consecutive four-year terms in office. No previous term in office which is in progress as of November 2026, shall be considered a term of service for purposes of the limitations contained herein.

FAVOR DE TOMAR EN CUENTA que el martes 3 de noviembre del 2026, se llevará a cabo una Elección Especial en la cual se les preguntará a los votantes del Condado de Lee si aprueban o desaprueban la adopción de las Enmiendas a los estatutos del Condado de Lee para que entren en vigor, en caso de su aprobación, el 1 de enero del 2027. La boleta tendrá substancialmente la forma indicada a continuación:

La elección se llevará a cabo entre las horas de 7:00a.m. y 7:00 p.m. Todos los votantes debidamente registrados del Condado de Lee pueden participar en la elección. Resumen: Enmienda a los Estatutos del Condado Sección 3.1 “Puestos Constitucionales Electos del Condado”; limitando el número de periodos consecutivos de los Funcionarios Constitucionales del Condado; la enmienda limitaría a los Funcionarios Constitucionales del Condado a servir en el puesto por no más de tres (3) periodos consecutivos de cuatro años. Ningún periodo previo en el puesto que se encuentre en curso en noviembre del 2026, deberá ser considerado un periodo de servicio para propósitos de las limitaciones aquí contenidas.
