PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, there will be conducted a Special Election at which the voters of Lee County will be asked if they approve or disapprove of the adoption of Amendments to the Lee County Charter to become effective, if approved, on January 1, 2027. This form of the ballot will read substantially as follows:

The election will be conducted between the hours of 7:00a.m. and 7:00 p.m. All duly registered voters of Lee County may participate in the election. A copy of this Notice and a copy of the proposed Amendments are on file in the Office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court of Lee County, Florida, Minutes Office. The public may inspect or copy the proposed amendments during regular business hours at the Clerk of Court. The Minutes Office located in the Courthouse Administration Building, 2115 Second Street, Fort Myers, Florida.
Information concerning voter registration and precinct locations may be obtained from the Office of the Supervisor of Elections, Lee County Constitutional Complex, 2480 Thompson Street, Fort Myers, Florida. Phone: (239) 533-8683.

AMENDMENT TO LEE COUNTY CHARTER
Title: County Charter Revision Relating to Setting the Number of Consecutive Terms of Elected Constitutional Officers
Summary: County Charter Amendment Section 3.1 “Elected County Constitutional Offices”; limiting the number of consecutive terms of the County Constitutional Officers; amendment would limit County Constitutional Officers to serving no more than three (3) consecutive four-year terms in office. No previous term in office which is in progress as of November 2026, shall be considered a term of service for purposes of the limitations contained herein.
