We are excited to propose
downtown route optimizations
Effective Date: November 3, 2019
To meet our objectives
of improved efficiency, performance, and headways, we are making changes to
better utilize LeeTran’s resources. We will be simplifying routes 10, 20, and
100 to reduce headways and improve operator and rider experience navigating the
system. These adjustments minimize coverage loss while introducing new service.
We are excited to propose year round service on the Blue Line Trolley in
downtown Fort Myers. The trolleys will also travel on route 10, allowing direct
service from downtown to Edison Mall. This will allow Route 20 to provide
higher frequency to communities to the east of downtown. Route 100 will take a
more direct path to Rosa Parks while routes 15 and 20 focus on local service.
These are the next steps in making LeeTran a more efficient and
customer-centric service.
Route 10
Route 10 will no longer travel
out to Michigan Ave. and Marsh Ave. It will travel between Rosa Parks
Transportation Center and Edison Mall in its normal configuration. The only
exception is that it will travel along Fowler St. and MLK Jr. Blvd. instead of
Edison Ave. and Jackson St. near downtown.

Route 20
Route 20 will now cover the
former eastern portion of Route 10 starting at Rosa Parks and down to Edison
Ave. at Veronica Shoemaker Blvd. and MLK Jr. Blvd. Route 20 will follow its
regular path to Palm Beach Blvd. It will no longer travel downtown.
FEEDBACK: LeeTranComment@leegov.com

Route 100
Route 100 will no longer deviate
down to Michigan Ave. and Marsh Ave. Instead it will travel on Veronica
Shoemaker Blvd. between MLK Jr. Blvd. and Palm Beach Blvd.
FEEDBACK: LeeTranComment@leegov.com

Route 500
Route 500 will now operate year
round with higher frequency during season.
