Here on the west coast, observations of light levels of algae have been reported in a few Lee County locations. Florida Department of Environmental Protection tests are occurring. No significant blue-green algae blooms exist in the county at this time. Algae is a naturally occurring phenomena that is typical in Florida, particularly during summer. Get up-to-date information.
