A preliminary staff review is conducted to screen properties for acceptability and allows the landowner to know in a relatively short period of time if the property will be considered further. The review includes performing In-house title examination. If the title is clear, the property will be mapped, and a site inspection will be scheduled.

Conservation 20/20 Acquisition Review Criteria
Once the site inspection is performed, the property will be scored with the 100-point review criteria and subsequently presented to the Criteria and Ranking Subcommittee (CRSC), and then the full committee known as the Conservation 20/20 Land Acquisition and Stewardship Advisory Committee (CLASAC). These committees are made up of citizen volunteers appointed by the Board of County Commissioners. The Criteria and Ranking (CRSC) and the Conservation 20/20 Land Acquisition and Stewardship Advisory Committee (CLASAC) meet the second Thursday of the month. Properties recommended by CLASAC for purchase consideration will be routed for Board of County Commissioner approval. If the Board of County Commission approves the purchase negotiation, staff is then able to order appraisals and begin potential acquisition due diligence.
