The Lee County Permitting Department has updated its requirements and no longer mandates a sewer letter or form from Lee County Utilities (LCU) for demolition permits. However, if you are applying for a demolition permit with the City of Fort Myers, the Town of Fort Myers Beach, or the Village of Estero, you must continue to submit the LCU Demolition Form for review. If you are unsure whether this requirement applies to your project, we encourage you to submit the form. Our team will review it and determine whether our approval is necessary. Process for Obtaining an Approval Letter for Demolition Permits
- Complete the Lee County Utilities Demo Form for demos within Lee County Utilities Service Areas.
- Submit completed form via email to
LCUNewInstalls@leegov.com (link to form found below).
- After form is signed by LCU New Installs, submit signed form with your demo permit as the required "Approval Letter from Lee County Utilities".
- If signed as "LCU Sewer", follow instructions on form to have the sewer inspected.
- If signed as "Not LCU Sewer", there are no additional requirements from Lee County Utilities.
