After conservation lands are acquired, Conservation 20/20 staff perform field evaluations to determine the condition and needs of the properties. The majority of the lands require some level of:

  • invasive exotic plant control work
  • trash/debris removal
  • hydrological restoration/enhancement (to improve sheet flow, water quality, wetland hydroperiod, wildlife habitat, etc.)
  • reduction of overgrown vegetation (to improve midstory and canopy structure of plant communities; and to reduce fuel to reduce intensity and severity of wildfire or prescribed fire)
