Back to Library Programs > Summer Reading Home

This year, from May 22nd to August 9th, we hope to inspire our community to “Build a Better World.”  We will share simple ideas for how children, teens, and adults can explore their world and expand their horizons.

To participate, visit your local library to pick up a sheet of fun challenges for babies, preschoolers, school-age kids, teens, and adults. All children and teens will get a free book. (One book per child, while supplies last.)

We hope you’ll join us in building a better world together this summer!

Building a Better World in Lee County

Lakes Regional Library hosted a great in-house Summer Reading program last week called “Crazy Cardboard Construction”, where kids and families created amazing things out of boxes and other recyclables.

ProjectLinusSRP2017.jpgEast County Regional Library teens kicked off the Summer Reading Program with an act of charity. 20 teens worked together to make 19 fleece blankets for the nonprofit, Project Linus, which will distribute them to local children in need.

Be sure to check the events calendar for programs at your local library for your age group.
