corkscrew.jpgThe Corkscrew Road corridor is one of the fastest growing areas in Lee County.  The goal of the Corkscrew Road Improvement Study is to identify enhancements to handle existing traffic and to prepare for future traffic increases.

This area lies within the Environmental Enhancement & Preservation Communities Overlay (EEPCO) which was established to promote restoration, enhancement and preservation of natural resources within the Density Reduction / Groundwater Resource (DR/GR) land use category.

Along with developing transportation improvements, the County will also look at opportunities for environmental enhancements.  The County’s objective is to provide our residents and visitors with an improved driving experience along with being environmentally conscious in this sensitive area.

Public Involvement Program

Lee County wants the public to be involved!

Bookmark this page, sign up for project updates, newsletters, and participate in meetings to keep up-to-date on the progress.

While the study is progressing, small group technical coordination meetings with agency representatives and consultants will be held to ensure the county has the best available data for technical topics.  A Steering Committee will also act as a sounding board to review partial results. Finally, a public meeting will be held at the end of the study to present results.
