The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services has the sole authority to respond to all cable or video service customer complaints. Cable franchises are issued by the Florida Department of State, effectively eliminating local franchise authorities.
Cable rates, other than the basic services tier, are not regulated by Federal law. All other tiers, including expanded basic, digital tiers, HD programming, pay-per-view and premium movie channels are not subject to rate regulation.
Cable services are provided in most of Lee County by Comcast Cable and CenturyLink. These cable companies provide high-definition cable and high-speed internet services to the residents of Lee County. Satellite television programming providers in Lee County include Dish Network and DirecTV.
