Commissioner Brian Hamman
is a proud Lee County native. A graduate of Cape Coral High School, Brian earned an associate's degree from Florida Southwestern State College (formerly Edison State College) and a bachelor's degree in communications from Florida Gulf Coast University.
Professionally, Brian spent 10 years covering local issues as a television news journalist, working his way up from the "camera guy" to a news anchor on the nightly news. In addition, Brian has worked as a financial advisor for Edward Jones and as the Market Development Manager for CenturyLink.
Brian has spent years working and living in our community, listening to people and understanding firsthand what it takes to make Lee County a great place to live, work and raise a family. Brian's priorities are to bring jobs to our community, keep taxes low and protect the beautiful environment that draws so many to Lee County.
Originally appointed to the Lee County Board of County Commissioners by Governor Rick Scott, the voters of Lee County chose to send him back for a full term in the 2014 general election. Shortly after being sworn-in, Brian was unanimously chosen by his fellow Commissioners to serve as Chairman.
Brian and his wife Rebecca reside in Cape Coral with their 4-year-old daughter, Kaitlyn. Brian remains active in the community, serving on the United Way's board of directors and volunteering at his church, Crosspoint Christian.
