Public Information Meeting Summerlin Road Widening & Overpass Construction
Feb 25, 2008 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Fort Myers, FL, February 25, 2008– The Lee County Department of Transportation (LC DOT) is conducting a preconstruction public information meeting for the Summerlin Road Widening and Overpass Construction Project. The meeting will be held from 4:30-6:30 p.m. on Thursday, February 28, 2008 at Cypress Lake United Methodist Church, 8570 Cypress Lake Drive, Fort Myers, FL. This project widens Summerlin Road from Cypress Lake Drive to Boy Scout Drive from four lanes to six lanes. The new lanes will be constructed to the east of the existing roadway. An overpass at Summerlin Road and College Parkway will also be constructed as part of this project. Work is scheduled to begin in April 2008 and will take approximately two years. Estimated construction cost of the project is $25.2 million. LC DOT is inviting the public to attend a preconstruction meeting to view the construction plans for this project. Representatives from LC DOT project team will be available to discuss the project and answer questions. The meeting will be conducted in an "open house" format; no formal presentation will be given.
