The workshop will be held from 4:30-6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, January 22, 2008 at Buckingham Community Center, 4940 Buckingham Rd, Fort Myers, FL 33905. Parking is across the street from the Community Center. The workshop will be conducted in an "open house" format; no formal presentation will be given. You may attend the workshop anytime between 4:30 – 6:30 p.m. A presentation will play continuously throughout the evening, outlining the progress and the draft preferred final alignment. Display boards will be available for viewing, and the Lee County project team will be present to answer any questions. History of the project The Luckett Road Corridor Extension Study area is from Interstate 75 (I-75) east to Joel Boulevard. The corridor extension study began with a wide range of potential alignments. These were evaluated and a set of alternatives were developed. These alternatives were presented at public workshops held in February, March and June of last year. The comments from each workshop were analyzed and considered during the evaluation process and aided in the selection of the draft preferred final alignment. After the draft preferred final alignment was selected, alignment adjustments were made to reduce impacts and costs. Comments received at this workshop will be assessed and where possible incorporated into the preferred final alignment. The preferred final alignment will then be presented to the Lee County Board of County Commissioners for their adoption. As always, the no-build option is still a viable option for the Luckett Road corridor extension. Anyone needing special accommodations under the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 should contact Kris Cella with Cella Molnar & Associates at kcella@cella.cc or phone (239) 337-1071 prior to the workshop.
