LEE TV TO AIR PROGRAM ON WATER CONSERVATION

Lee County, Florida (December 26, 2007) – Lee TV, Lee County's government access channel, will begin airing a video that gives information on what residents can do to conserve Florida's fresh groundwater supplies.

Entitled, "Florida's Water: Wealth For Our Future" - the video was produced by a number of organizations and public entities, including the South Florida Water Management District.  The video explains how Florida's unique water system works and how it is recharged.  Florida's residents use more water overall than any other state except California.  By the year 2020, Florida's continuing growth in population will double the states' water needs, putting more stress on its already limited supplies.

The video also shows how residents can use water more efficiently, both inside and outside the home.

The program will air Mondays on Lee TV at 8:30 pm, channel 11 on the Comcast cable system.

Lee TV is the county's 24-hour government access channel that provides residents with information about Lee County Government, as well as other public safety and state-related news. A broadcast schedule can be viewed at the county's website:
