Commissioner Hall Displaying Work Of Local Artist

COMMISSIONER HALL DISPLAYING WORK OF LOCAL ARTIST
IN CONTINUING SERIES
 
FORT MYERS, Fla. (November 6, 2007) –Lee County Commissioner Tammy Hall is supporting local artists by giving them an opportunity to display their artwork in her Fort Myers office.  

This month Dianna Willman is exhibiting her original work at the downtown District #4 Commissioner office through December 10th.   The display includes beautiful scenes of Southwest Florida done in oils and acrylics.  The public is welcome to view the artwork and learn more about Willman (see below).  The artwork is also for sale.  

 "The arts are an important part of the cultural development of our community," says Commissioner Hall.  "I believe that government can play an important role in providing assistance in public awareness, developing the use of public spaces for display and interaction of art, and for the encouragement and commitment of continued financial support both public and private of all the arts."   

Other local artists will be featured at six to eight-week intervals.  Commissioner Hall's office is on the first floor of the Old County Courthouse, 2120 Main Street in downtown Ft. Myers.  Office hours are Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. 

Commissioner Hall was elected to the Board of Lee County Commissioners in 2004 and re-elected in 2006.  Her district includes North Fort Myers and the central and northern portions of Cape Coral. 

About the Artist: 

Dianna R. Willman – American impressionist of light and color.  Dianna was born in St. Louis, Missouri.  She was raised in a family of artists.  Dianna went on to a career in commercial art working in an art studio then later in an advertising agency.   In 1990 Dianna began pursuing a career in fine art.  She became a member of several art organizations, serving on various committees as a board member.  She has exhibited her paintings in local, regional, and nation juried exhibitions and received many awards and recognition.  Her paintings hang in private collections throughout the United States.  She has been teaching oil, acrylic, and watercolors at art associations and from her home studio since 1995.  Dianna is married to her husband Gordon also an artist.  

Since moving to Bokeelia on Pine Island in 1998, Dianna continues to maintain an art studio and gallery in her home.  Visitors are welcome by appointment.  You can also visit her website at www.diannawillman.com
