Calusa Blueway Paddling Festival - Calendar Listings For Oct. 27-Nov. 4

The Calusa Blueway Paddling Festival has more than 40 events over nine days. Below are calendar listings for many of the happenings. For all event information, go to www.calusabluewaypaddlingfestival.com and click on "events."

Saturday, Oct. 27: Midpoint Paddle Sprint canoe & kayak regatta. 8 a.m. registration/check-in, 9 a.m. start at North Shore Park, 12901 Cleveland Ave., North Fort Myers. $25. 4-mile recreational race, 10-mile competitive race. Spectators welcome for free. Sponsored by the Caloosahatchee River Citizens Association as part of the Calusa Blueway Paddling Festival. Saturday, Oct. 27: Imperial River Challenge, a two-mile time-trial event with $1,000 purse. Check-in begins at 9 a.m. at Riverside Park, 10451 Pennsylvania Ave., Bonita Springs (off Old U.S. 41). $10 advance registration; $15 race day. Proceeds benefit Bonita Springs Waterways Conservation Fund. Spectators welcome for free. Part of the Bonita Springs Riverfest and Calusa Blueway Paddling Festival. Friday, Nov. 2: Orange River Paddle. 8:30 a.m. beginning at Manatee Park, 10901 S.R. 80, east Fort Myers. Get basic instruction, be shuttled upstream and paddle back to the park. $35 for guide, kayak, equipment and shuttle; $15 for privately owned solo kayaks or $20 for privately owned tandem kayaks. For kayak-fishing industry professional teams of four competing for cash prizes on waters of Matlacha/Pine Island. $200 per team.
