Lee TV Adds Interactive Features to Website
Sep 25, 2007 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE FORT MYERS, FL. (September 25, 2007) – Public Resources has added two new interactive features to Lee County's award winning web site. "What's Going on Today", a web enabled calendar program lists County activities for the day. This interactive calendar gives citizens the ability of seeing all events or searching for specific department events. With a click of a button events can be downloaded directly to the user's personal calendars. For convenience registration and fees can also be made directly through the program. Currently the calendar displays events for the Library, Board of County Commissioners, Public Resources, Extension Services, and Parks and Recreation. The calendar will continue to expand as other departments migrate from individual calendars to the new global calendar. The new calendar is located on the County's home page at Lee-County.com. An interactive county meeting room map has also been added under the County's on-line services page. The map displays over 35 County meeting rooms that are available to the public. Features include a geographical breakdowns and room sizes based on seating capacities ranging from 10 to over 200. Also included is detailed information on who to contact to make reservations. The map has zoom capabilities that display rooms in map, satellite and hybrid views. Both web enhancements are results of the Board of County Commissioners and Administration's ongoing goal to provide enhanced communications to the public using "State-of–the-Art Technology". |
