EMS Invites 40 Applicants to New Hire Assessment

Lee county emergency medical service  invites applicants to new hire assessment  ~40 Applicants to Participate~ 

Ft. Myers, Fla.-Lee County Emergency Medical Services has invited 40 applicants to participate in its new hire assessment on Sept. 8, 2007 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 3434 Hancock Bridge Parkway. 

All applicants are required to successfully complete the four phases of the assessment process in order to be considered for employment: physical agility, written examination, practical examination and oral interview. In addition to successfully completing the assessment process, applicants must undergo a thorough background and reference checks as well as maintain a clean driving record. All candidates must also possess a current State of Florida Paramedic license or EMT certificate. 

Those applicants that are selected will spend four weeks in the agency's new employment orientation program which will initiate them to local protocols and policies. Lee County EMS employs 255 paramedics and EMTs and is actively working to fill its 24 field provider vacancies. Lee County EMS has invited more than 178 applicants this year and 67 have joined the agency since October 2006.  Those interested in becoming a Lee County EMS paramedic or EMT can email emshr@leegov.com or call EMS administration at (239) 335-1600.
