EMS Captain Eileen Brisco Starts Position as EMS Shift Commander

Ft. Myers, Fla.-Lee County Emergency Medical Service Captain Eileen Briscoe started her first day in the position as EMS Shift Commander today. Briscoe is the first female to hold the position of Captain in the agency. As shift commander, Capt. Briscoe will be responsible for EMS operations including overseeing more than 30 ambulances and 65 paramedics and emergency medical technicians deployed throughout the county on a daily basis. Capt. Briscoe began her career with Lee County in 1993. Capt. Briscoe graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from Florida Gulf Coast University. She also holds associates' degrees in general studies and emergency medical service and is a Florida registered nurse. Capt. Briscoe is a resident of Fort Myers.
