Caloosahatchee Creeks Preserve Groundbreaking Ceremony
 
On Tuesday, June 19, 2007, 2 PM, the Lee County Board of County Commissioners will conduct a groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of recreational facilities at the Caloosahatchee Creeks Preserve in North Ft Myers.  The park is located immediately south of the State Route 78 and Durrance Road intersection.  Lee County Commissioner, Tammy Hall, will serve as master of ceremonies.  She will be joined by numerous officials from the South Florida Water Management District, Florida Department of Environmental Protection Agency and Audubon of Southwest Florida.   

This $ 2 million project is the first time that the Lee County Parks and Recreation Department will be adding recreational facilities to a Conservation 2020 property. 

All attendees will park at ECHO (17391 Durrance Road) and ride the free bus shuttle service to the ceremony.   The shuttle service will run from 1:30 – 3:00 PM.

The ceremony is open to the public and area citizens are encouraged to attend the festivities.
