May 30, 2007 For Immediate Release The format will be educational and informational relative to pre disaster mitigation and post disaster planning, plus all aspects of business recovery, business loans, and unemployment assistance. There will also be a 32 foot Mobil Assistance Center on hand for participants to tour. The program is free and registration is required. Businesses can register at: http://cli.fgcu.edu/sbdc. The Small Business Development Center and the Horizon Council urge business leaders and small business owners to protect their employees and themselves by creating and making staff aware of a disaster preparedness plan - before the 2007 hurricane season begins. The Economic Development Office is an office of Lee County government that works to attract new and diversified businesses resulting in high-wage, high-skilled jobs; retain and encourage expansion of existing businesses; and improve the overall business environment in Lee County. The Small Business Development Center is a non-profit organization that serves to design and deliver a collection of programs directed toward strengthening the economic benefit of Southwest Florida. Services include free one-to-one counseling, educational workshops, and support of the activities of the U.S. Small Business Administration. |
