Summerlin/San Carlos Intersection to Close Nights from May 20-22
May 15, 2007 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Contact: Amy Davies, 479-8589 SUMMERLIN/SAN CARLOS INTERSECTION TO CLOSE NIGHTS FROM MAY 20 - MAY 22 FORT MYERS, FL (May 15, 2007) – Westbound through traffic at the intersection of Summerlin Road and San Carlos Blvd. will be closed each night from Sunday May 20, 2007 to Tuesday May 22, 2007. In addition, Westbound Summerlin Road will be closed from Pine Ridge to San Carlos Blvd. to allow for the initial placement of the steel bridge beams. Right turns only will be available on all other legs of the intersection except from Westbound Summerlin to Northbound San Carlos. Eastbound traffic will remain open, however traffic will be reduced to one lane. The intersection and westbound Summerlin from Pine Ridge to San Carlos will be closed each night beginning Sunday, May 20, 2007 until Tuesday May 22, 2007 from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. DETOURS WILL BE IN PLACE DIRECTING TRAFFIC TO PINE RIDGE, JOHN MORRIS AND KELLY ROAD. MOTORISTS SHOULD AVOID THIS INTERSECTION AND USE ALTERNATE ROUTES. Future closures will be necessary for the final beam placement at the end of May. Access to businesses at the intersection will be provided. Law enforcement will be available to assist with maintenance of traffic. The closure of Summerlin/San Carlos Intersection scheduled for tonight, May 15, 2007 will no longer be necessary. The contractor completed the first phase for the placement of the initial beams one day early. |
