Lee County Utilities Reminds Residents to Update Irrigation Timers
Mar 12, 2007 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Contact: Patty DiPiero, Lee County Utilities LEE COUNTY UTILITIES REMINDS RESIDENTS TO UPDATE THEIR IRRIGATION TIMERS FORT MYERS, Fla. (March 12, 2007) – Lee County Utilities would like to remind all residents to update their irrigation timers to reflect the spring time change. "After a time change, we see many people inadvertently violating the watering restrictions because they forgot to change the time on their irrigation system," said Patty DiPiero spokeswoman for Lee County Utilities. Residents within unincorporated Lee County should be following the year round watering restriction schedule. The restrictions allow watering during the hours of midnight to 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM to midnight on the following days: odd addresses on Wednesday and/or Saturday and even addresses on Thursday and/or Sunday. The restrictions do not allow any watering on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays or between the hours of 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM. A warning will be given for a fist time offense, but a second violation carries a fine of $25.00 and additional violation is $100.00. Anyone violating the watering restrictions beyond this point can be fined up to $500.00 and/or spend no more than 60 days in County jail.
