Six Mile Cypress Slough Preserve Ground Breaking Ceremony 

On Tuesday, March 20, 2007, 2 PM,  the Lee County Board of County Commissioners will conduct a ground breaking ceremony for the new Interpretive Center at the Six Mile Cypress Slough Preserve.  The park is located at 7751 Penzance Boulevard (off of Six Mile Cypress Pkwy between Daniels and Colonial Boulevards)   Lee County Commissioner, Bob Janes, will serve as master of ceremonies.  He will be joined by numerous officials from the South Florida Water Management District and the environmental community.  The construction of the new 11,000 square foot facility will cost $ 3,531,000. 

The ceremony is open to the public and area citizens are encouraged to attend the festivities.
