Two Public Information Workshops Scheduled For the Luckett Road & Sunshine Boulevard Corridor Extension Studies

Fort Myers, FL, February 21, 2007- The Lee County Department of
Transportation (LC DOT) will conduct two public information workshops for
the Luckett Road & Sunshine Boulevard Corridor Extension Studies.

INFORMATION FOR BOTH STUDIES WILL BE SHOWN AT EACH WORKSHOP; THE PUBLIC MAY ATTEND EITHER WORKSHOP.

. The first workshop will be held from 4:30-6:30 p.m. on Monday, February
26, 2007 at Veterans Park Recreation Center (Gymnasium), 55 South Homestead
Road, Lehigh Acres.

. The second workshop will be held from 4:30-6:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 8,
2007 at Olga Grace Church, 14036 Matanzas Drive, Fort Myers.

The Luckett Road Corridor Extension Study area is from Interstate 75 (I-75)
east to Joel Boulevard.  The Sunshine Boulevard Corridor Extension Study
area begins in Lehigh Acres at 59th Street and continues north to State Road
80 (SR 80).

These studies are being conducted to assist LC DOT in reaching a decision on
the location and conceptual design for the long-range improvements for the
extension of Luckett Road from I-75 to Joel Boulevard and the extension of
Sunshine Boulevard from 59th Street north to SR 80.

LC DOT is inviting the public to attend a public information workshop to
view a short looping video presentation, display boards with more detailed
aerials of the potential alignments, typical sections, and learn more
information about the project.  Representatives from LC DOT will be
available to discuss the project and answer questions.

The workshops will be conducted in an "open house" format; no formal
presentation will be given.  You may attend the workshops anytime between
4:30 - 6:30 p.m.
