Lee County PugFest III:  Pug Idle
Event to Raise Funds for Reading Festival and Animal Care Trust

Fort Myers, Florida, February 13, 2007 Lee County PugFest III: Pug Idle will be held Sunday, March 11, 2007 from 12:00 - 4:00 pm at the Bell Tower Shops in Fort Myers.  The PugFest, now in its third year, is a pet-friendly joint fundraiser for Lee County's Library System and Animal Services to benefit the Lee County Animal Care Trust Fund and the Southwest Florida Reading Festival.
The Fest will feature book signings by Nancy Levine, Lisa Knapp, and Nancy Bush, nationally noted authors of pug books.  Books-A-Million will be on hand with plenty of books for sale and will donate 20% to the cause.
Pug owners may nominate their pugs for PugFest King & Queen and their Royal Court.  Winners will be crowned during the festivities with judging also taking place at the event.  Applications for the competition are available at www.leelostpets.com.  Other popular highlights each year include a pug fashion show and a best costume contests which is open to all dog breeds.  Pet microchipping, vendor exhibits, pet products, pet portraits, and a Chinese Auction will also be featured.

The Southwest Florida Reading Festival is an annual event to encourage reading and use of the library's resources.  The Animal Care Trust Fund provides money for a variety of needs including affordable spay/neuter surgery for disadvantaged pet owners and care of neglected or abused animals.  For more information about PugFest, the Reading Festival or Animal Care Trust, call (239) 432-2083 or visit www.LeeLostPets.com or www.lee-county.com/library/ReadingFestivalHome.htm.
