Public Information Meeting for Ben C. Pratt/Six Mile Cypress Pkwy
Feb 16, 2007 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Fort Myers, FL, February 16, 2007 – The Lee County Department of Transportation (LC DOT) will conduct a public information workshop for the Ben C. Pratt Six Mile Cypress Parkway Widening project from 5:00 – 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, February 20, 2007 at the Celebration Family Church located at 12400 Plantation Road, Fort Myers, Florida. LC DOT is designing the widening of the last two-lane section of Ben C. Pratt Six Mile Cypress Parkway. This section is located between Daniels Parkway and Heritage Palms, south of the Winkler Avenue Extension. The majority of the corridor is currently four lanes with a ten-foot multi-use path on the east side of the roadway. LC DOT has determined from traffic counts and development forecasts that the current two lane section must be improved to four lanes. This can be accomplished in the existing right-of-way and property acquisition is not anticipated for the widening. LC DOT is inviting the public to attend this public information workshop to view 60% plans. Representatives from Lee County will be available to discuss the project and answer questions. The workshop will be conducted in an "open house" format; no formal presentation will be given.
