Lee Tran Provides Express Service for Edison Parade
Feb 7, 2007 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE (February 7, 2007) To alleviate parking congestion in downtown Fort Myers, Edison Parade organizers, LeeTran and the Edison Mall have teamed up to provide a solution. LeeTran is adding buses on Route 140 to transport parade-goers from the Edison Mall parking lot to downtown Fort Myers. Parking is free and the express buses are half price from 3 p.m. until 11 p.m. on parade day, Saturday, Feb. 17. The bus will drop passengers on Martin Luther King Blvd. at Hendry Street. A second stop will be made at South Street and Grand Avenue, one block east of US 41, for those who are attending the stadium show. Chairs and coolers may be brought on board. Drivers should park their cars in the southeast corner of the Edison Mall lot, near Solomon Boulevard and south of Dillard's. The express buses will display "Edison Parade" above the windshield. Adults will pay only 50 cents (half the regular fare); those with discount IDs will pay 25 cents and preschool children 42 inches or less will ride free.
