Feb 1, 2007 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Town Hall Meetings to Address Relocation of Riverdale Branch Library FORT MYERS, Fla., Feb. 1, 2007 – The Lee County Library System has scheduled three town hall meetings to get community input about plans to move the Riverdale Branch Library to a new location. The branch, currently located in the Riverdale Shopping Center at 14561 State Road 80 in Fort Myers, is expected to relocate to The Shops at Verandah at the intersection of Palm Beach Boulevard and State Road 31. The exact date of the library's move is undetermined at this time. The Riverdale Branch has been operating out of its present 6,000-square-foot facility since 1991, when the library first opened its doors to the public. The branch serves 6,653 registered patrons. "The pending relocation will increase the branch's space by 1,000 square feet and move operations into a more modern facility," said LCLS Public Services Manager Marilyn Graham. Library staff and architects of the relocation project will be available to answer questions and accept suggestions from Lee County residents during the following scheduled town hall meetings: 4 p.m. Monday, Feb. 12 – church hall of St. Vincent De Paul (13031 Palm Beach Blvd.); call the church at (239) 693-0818 to get directions 6 p.m. Monday, Feb. 12 – church hall of St. Vincent De Paul (13031 Palm Beach Blvd.) 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 17 – Riverdale Branch Library (14561 State Road 80); call the library at (239) 461-3130 to get directions or visit the Lee County Library System Web site at http://www.lee-county.com/library Registration for the meetings is not required.
