(January 24, 2007) - Lee County Utilities' customers and residents of unincorporated Lee County can now call 239-274-2547 for more information regarding the mandatory year-round watering The mandatory year round watering restrictions are part of the Lee County Water Conservation Ordinance allowing irrigation two days a week. The watering restriction hotline is part of Lee County Utilities' water conservation program to increase public awareness of proper irrigation. These efforts along with plant improvements and the storage of over 300 million gallons of water in aquifer storage and recovery wells has put LCU in a more favorable position for this dry season than last year's dry season. Lee County Utilities still encourages everyone to practice water conservation to ensure water supplies for the future. Irrigation for unincorporated Lee County is allowed on Wednesday and Saturday for odd addresses and Thursday and Sunday for even addresses from midnight to 9:00 AM or 5:00 PM to midnight.
