LEE COUNTY, FL (Dec. 12, 2006) – Vacation planning for international visitors to The Beaches of Fort Myers & Sanibel in southwest Florida is now easier than ever with the launch the French, German and Spanish Web sites. The area continues to see an increase in international visitors, mainly due to year-round direct air service from Germany and Canada to Fort Myers. Also, currency continues to maintain a high yielding exchange rate, making travel to the U.S. advantageous for international travelers. Research has shown that once a traveler has chosen a destination, there is increased interest in seeking travel planning information online. All these components were taken into consideration for the development and implementation of the new international sites.
Each international site features specific areas based on the markets preference to maximize the type of unique experience visitors would encounter on The Beaches of Fort Myers & Sanibel. For example, if culture and nightlife are of interest, information on restaurants, theaters and art galleries are plentiful. If being outdoors describes the perfect way to escape on vacation, the Web sites includes information on nature preserves, water recreation suggestions and fishing recommendations. All these elements have been researched and assembled by professional travel writers and translated for the appropriate markets.
Consistently recognized for destination marketing innovation, the Lee County Visitor & Convention Bureau's Web site offers a new performance level with insider tips about places to go and things to do. Most importantly, helpful information prior to arrival to the area, such as car rental listings, currency exchange locations, reservation services and emergency numbers, are included on each translated site.
