This collection gives residents the opportunity to dispose of special waste that needs to stay out of the normal household waste stream. These items are pesticides, fertilizers, paints, thinners, paint strippers, polishers, pool chemicals, automotive fluids, batteries, fluorescent tubes, propane gas grill tanks, etc.  In short everything labeled POISON, CORROSIVE, FLAMMABLE, REACTIVE, TOXIC, and DANGEROUS.  Ammunition and flares are also accepted!

Residents may also bring outdated or non-working computers, monitors, scanners, copiers, fax machines, televisions, stereos, video machines, microwave ovens, printers, and computer and telephone peripherals.
These devices are known as E-WASTE and some contain significant amounts of environmental harmful materials.

White goods (stoves, refrigerators, washers, dryers, water-heaters, etc.) are not accepted! Call your hauling company to schedule a special pick-up.

The next Household Hazardous Waste Collection will be held in Cape Coral on January 27, 2007. For a list of scheduled collection days visit our web site @ lee-county.com/solidwaste.
