Lee County Utilities Offers Ability to Make Payment Over the Phone

(November 16, 2006) - Lee County Utilities announces the ability to pay utility bills over the phone using Interactive Voice Recognition (IVR). The new phone system can be accessed by calling, (239) 690-4128 or toll free at 1-866-516-8824. This new payment option allows Lee County Utilities' customers an additional way to pay their bill quickly and easily, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week using either a debit card, credit card, or a check. Not only does this ease the way of making a payment for local customers, but Lee County Utilities has many customers that are seasonal residents that live out of state. The ability to pay over the phone allows our customers to make instant payments, alleviating the worry of lost or misdirected payments resulting in late fees. All that is needed to pay over the phone is the account number and the billing address zip code. Payments can easily be made using a checking account, MasterCard, VISA, Discover, or American Express. Lee County Utilities will still offer the traditional ways of making payments by mailing the payment, stopping into our Customer Service located at 7391 College Parkway, using automatic withdrawal from a checking or savings account, or dropping off a payment in one of our drop boxes located throughout the county. Lee County Utilities currently has more than 77,500 water and 56,200 sewer accounts. The county operates eight wastewater-treatment plants – Fort Myers Beach, Fiesta Village, Waterway Estates, Three Oaks, San Carlos, Gateway, Highpoint, and Pine Island – with a total of 16.5-million gallons of capacity per day, and seven drinking water-treatment plants – College Parkway, Corkscrew, Green Meadows, Olga, Pinewoods, Bartow, and Waterway Estates – with a combined 35-million gallons of capacity per day. |
