No Right Turn at Night on Southbound Summerlin to Westbound Gladiolus
Nov 6, 2006 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Contact: Amy Davies, Lee County DOT NO RIGHT TURN PERMITTED AT NIGHT ON SOUTHBOUND SUMMERLIN TO WESTBOUND GLADIOLUS Fort Myers, FL (November 6, 2006) – Due to safety concerns no right turns will be permitted on southbound Summerlin Road to westbound Gladiolus Drive at night from 7:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. November 6, 2006 through November 9, 2006. The contractor, Phoenix Construction will continue placement and fastening of steel beams for Span A. Motorists are encouraged use Cypress Lake Drive as an alternate route. The intersection will be closed each night to thru traffic beginning Sunday, November 5, until Thursday, November 9, from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. MOTORISTS SHOULD AVOID THIS INTERSECTION AND USE ALTERNATE ROUTES; U.S. 41, Cypress Lake Drive and Winkler Road. Similar future closures of this intersection will be required when the concrete decks are poured, painting the bridges, and paving the intersection. Access to businesses at the intersection will be provided. Law enforcement will be available to assist with maintenance of traffic. |
