Library System Introduce E-Notification and 24 Hour Phone Line
Oct 31, 2006 INFORMATION RELEASE Media Contact: Heather O'Connell Lee County Library System Introduces E-Mail Notification and 24-hour Phone Line Fort Myers, FLA., October 31, 2006 –Now it's easier than ever to find out when your books and movies are ready at the library. The Lee County Library System (LCLS) introduces free e-mail notification and 24-hour phone information for library users. "Now, when you request a book, movie or music, we'll e-mail you when it's ready for pick-up. It's free and easy; just sign-up at the library or call 479-INFO with your library card number and e-mail address," said LCLS Community Relations Coordinator Heather O'Connell. Call the 24-hour Library Phone Line at (239) 338-3518 "You can hear a list of items you have on hold and whether they're ready for pick-up. If you have an item on hold, but changed your mind, you can cancel the reservation over the phone," O'Connell said. Library users can also find out what items they currently have checked out, when they're due and whether they owe any fines or fees. For those who need a little extra time with their books, there's a handy phone feature that can help. "Just select the ´renew' option to keep most items an additional 2 weeks. You can renew most items once, as long as they aren't overdue or on reserve for another library user," O'Connell said. For those who need to talk with a library staff member, telephone help is available from 9 a.m. – 9 p.m. Monday – Thursday and from 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. Just have your library card ready and call Telephone Reference at 479-INFO (4636). Library users who prefer to get their information online can also check their accounts and renew or request items 24/7 at the library system's website (www.lee-county.com/library).
